Junior Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Test Planning & Execution
• Collaborate with the QA lead and development team to understand requirements and define testing scope.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive test cases, test scenarios, and test data.
• Execute manual and automated test scripts to validate functionality, usability, and performance.
• Defect Tracking & Reporting
• Identify, document, and track software defects with clear reproduction steps.
• Work with developers to verify bug fixes and ensure resolution before release.
• Maintain detailed test logs and prepare quality reports for stakeholders.
• Automation & Tools
• Assist in creating, maintaining, and enhancing automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or similar.
• Work with API testing tools like Postman or Swagger for backend validation.
• Quality Process Adherence
• Ensure compliance with established QA processes, standards, and best practices.
• Contribute ideas for process improvements and automation opportunities.
• Collaboration & Communication
• Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and review meetings in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Communicate effectively with developers, business analysts, and project managers to ensure clarity on requirements and issues.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: 2-5 years of software testing experience in web, mobile, or enterprise applications.
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies (functional, regression, integration, UAT).
• Hands-on experience with test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, or similar.
• Experience with automation testing frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar).
• Basic understanding of Java, JavaScript, or Python for test automation scripting.
• Knowledge of API testing and familiarity with tools like Postman.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality software.
  

Preferred Skills (Good To Have)

• Exposure to performance testing tools like JMeter.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience with tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Experience testing across multiple browsers and devices using platforms like BrowserStack.
• Basic knowledge of database queries (SQL)
