Junior Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer
to join our growing technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software products before they reach end-users. You will work closely with developers, business analysts, and product managers to identify issues, verify fixes, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our testing processes.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid QA foundation who is eager to learn, grow, and take ownership of testing activities across multiple projects.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Test Planning & Execution
- Collaborate with the QA lead and development team to understand requirements and define testing scope.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive test cases, test scenarios, and test data.
- Execute manual and automated test scripts to validate functionality, usability, and performance.
- Defect Tracking & Reporting
- Identify, document, and track software defects with clear reproduction steps.
- Work with developers to verify bug fixes and ensure resolution before release.
- Maintain detailed test logs and prepare quality reports for stakeholders.
- Automation & Tools
- Assist in creating, maintaining, and enhancing automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or similar.
- Work with API testing tools like Postman or Swagger for backend validation.
- Quality Process Adherence
- Ensure compliance with established QA processes, standards, and best practices.
- Contribute ideas for process improvements and automation opportunities.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and review meetings in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Communicate effectively with developers, business analysts, and project managers to ensure clarity on requirements and issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 2-5 years of software testing experience in web, mobile, or enterprise applications.
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies (functional, regression, integration, UAT).
- Hands-on experience with test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, or similar.
- Experience with automation testing frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar).
- Basic understanding of Java, JavaScript, or Python for test automation scripting.
- Knowledge of API testing and familiarity with tools like Postman.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality software.
Preferred Skills (Good To Have)
- Exposure to performance testing tools like JMeter.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience with tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Experience testing across multiple browsers and devices using platforms like BrowserStack.
- Basic knowledge of database queries (SQL)
