Junior QA Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Manual Testing:

• Perform detailed manual testing of web and mobile applications to identify bugs, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement.
• Create and execute test cases, track bugs, and ensure issues are resolved by the development team.
• Ensure all features meet functional and non-functional requirements through rigorous testing procedures.

• Automation Testing (Nice to Have):

• Assist in the creation, execution, and maintenance of automated tests using popular frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or similar tools.
• Work with the team to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

• Test Case Management:

• Collaborate with product managers and developers to understand requirements and create comprehensive test cases for both manual and automated testing.
• Manage test documentation and ensure proper coverage of all scenarios.

• Performance and Load Testing (Optional):

• Contribute to performance and load testing efforts to ensure the product performs well under varying conditions.

• Regression Testing:

• Execute regression tests on new builds to ensure that existing functionality is unaffected by changes or new features.

• DevOps Integration:

• Familiarize with and use DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Docker) to run tests in different environments.
• Collaborate with DevOps engineers to improve the testing and deployment pipeline.

• Bug Reporting & Tracking:

• Document bugs, issues, and improvements clearly using tracking tools like Jira, Bugzilla, or similar.
• Follow up with developers to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner and ensure proper closure of tickets.

• Collaboration:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams (development, product, and DevOps) to identify and resolve quality issues across the entire development lifecycle.
• Provide input during sprint planning to ensure quality requirements are understood and met.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience:

  1-2 years of experience in software testing, including both manual and automated testing.

• Testing Frameworks:

  Experience with testing frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG, etc.) is a plus.

• DevOps Tools:

  Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Jenkins, Git, or similar DevOps tools.

• Testing Types:

  Experience with functional, regression, integration, and UI testing.

• Bug Tracking:

  Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools like Jira, TestRail, or equivalent.

• Scripting Languages (Nice to Have):

  Basic knowledge of scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, or Shell scripting is a plus.

• Attention to Detail:

  A strong focus on detail and the ability to identify edge cases and bugs that might otherwise be overlooked.

• Communication:

  Strong verbal and written communication skills to work effectively within a team.

• Problem Solving:

  Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to think critically about software functionality.

Education:

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
