Role Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide 24x7 monitoring and support for Global IT Infrastructure and services.
  • Monitor servers, cloud environments, network devices, communication links, storage and backup devices, telephony systems, and applications.
  • Analyze s to identify failures across servers, databases, applications, and networks.
  • Categorize, investigate, and resolve incidents in alignment with ITSM best practices.
  • Proactively escalate and notify stakeholders during critical incidents and major outages.
  • Manage major incidents, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication.
  • Validate the performance and health of monitoring tools deployed.
  • Generate availability, performance, and incident reports at scheduled intervals and on demand.
  • Log incidents in the ticketing system, assign them to relevant teams, and track resolution.
  • Respond to system s, perform initial troubleshooting, and escalate when necessary.
  • Provide L1 support for Windows, VMware, networking, and telephony services.
  • Perform routine maintenance, checks, and updates on Windows servers and VMware environments.
  • Monitor and manage network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) for performance and security.
  • Troubleshoot telephony systems to ensure seamless communication services.
  • Perform basic storage management tasks including monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure successful backup operations and manage restore processes as required.
  • Conduct routine database checks, performance monitoring, and initial troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with IT infrastructure, application support, and security teams to resolve issues.
  • Generate and analyze incident trends to improve IT service continuity.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on incident progress and resolutions.

Technical Skills

  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., DataDog, SolarWinds, LogicMonitor).
  • Proficiency in ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, SolarWinds Helpdesk).
  • Strong understanding of Windows Server administration and VMware environments.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (OSI model, switching, internet routing).
  • Familiarity with telephony systems, VoIP technologies, and backup solutions.
  • Ability to assess faults, prioritize incidents, and escalate effectively.
