We hire for growth and longevity because we value the happiness and well-being of our employees.THE ROLEAs the Technical Email Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the tactical execution of our email strategy while helping us expand the reach of our marketing and transactional email programs. You will be the point person working cross functionally with our marketing, product, and engineering teams to develop dynamic email campaigns and use data to leverage results. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter and is able to execute projects from strategy to completion.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain marketing/transactional emails
- Utilize HTML/CSS and email marketing best practices to create and code interactive experiences for email. Develop/modify email templates and existing campaigns
- Build and optimize dynamic, data-driven email marketing campaigns and contribute to the continued modernization of the email channel
- Apply the best practices in email development, email compliance regulations, and accessibility
- Execute email campaigns with a heavy emphasis on customer segmentation, testing protocol, and technical execution
- Ensure identical rendering across browsers, ESPs, and devices
- Troubleshoot HTML, CSS, and other performance issues. Troubleshoot data, templates, and logic issues
- Continuously optimize the development of email template
- Analyze and report on data trends and make recommendations to enhance email marketing performance
- Execute ongoing A/B testing regimen to improve email performance and engagement
- Ownership of developing and managing email strategy, data and driving performance
Qualifications
- 5 years of relevant email development work experience
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of HTML/CSS
- Knowledge of e-campaign best practices including responsive coding formatting, A/B testing, and reporting
- Experience with email marketing and automation platforms — familiarity with MessageGears preferred, but experience with other major ESPs (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, SAP Marketing Cloud, Acoustic, Adobe Campaign, Marketo etc.) is also valued
- Experience with email optimization tools, Litmus or Email on Acid
- Proven experience with data analysis of email campaigns
- Proven experience in creating and optimizing email workflows and automation journeys to drive engagement and improve campaign performance
- Strong project management skills and understanding how to manage priorities of multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledgeable on email compliance regulations
- Familiarity with email marketing and marketing automation technology
