Java Team Lead

As a Team Lead at Blenheim Chalcot portfolio and Modulr, your role is crucial in overseeing a team of software engineers, ensuring efficient operations, and delivering high-quality products. You will blend technical leadership, people management, process improvement, and operational excellence to create an autonomous and high-performing team environment. **Responsibilities and Duties:** - Manage and lead a team of approximately six software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance. - Plan team activities and delegate tasks effectively to ensure each member is in the right role with defined responsibilities. - Play a key role in the hiring process by interviewing and assessing candidates to represent Modulr's mission and culture. - Oversee the onboarding process for new team members to ensure a smooth transition. - Conduct regular team meetings, one-on-ones, and performance reviews for people development. - Set and track performance goals for individual team members and the team as a whole. - Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. - Communicate team progress and challenges to Modulites across all levels. - Identify and mitigate potential risks to ensure project success. - Foster a culture of experimentation within the team for continuous learning and improvement. - Report regularly on the team's progress, outcomes, and achievements to the wider Engineering organization. **About you:** The successful Team Lead will have a track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable with change. Strong stakeholder management experience is essential for success in this role.
