Java Software Engineer

Technical Skillset Required:

Strong experience in UI technologies such as HTML5, React, and Angular.

Strong knowledge of Java technologies including Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Microservices, and Spring JPA.

Proficient in working with JSON and REST APIs.

Full Stack development experience with polyglot solutions, particularly Java, Groovy, and Kafka.

Knowledge of Integration and Unit Testing, as well as Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD).

Strong integration design and development skills.

Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.

Good understanding of frameworks and design patterns, with the ability to comprehend complex architectural aspects.

Experience in integrating with third-party applications.

Agile development experience.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Understand requirements through various available sources of information and documents within the team.

Assist Architects in design activities and work estimation.

Learn and adhere to best practices, methodologies, and standards used in the program.

Perform coding and unit testing of the developed code in line with program standards and guidelines.

Follow all defined development processes within the program.

Mentor and train both existing and new team members.

Identify and collaborate with all necessary stakeholders to reach agreements in line with defined project goals, with minimal assistance.

Track progress against assigned tasks, report status, and proactively raise issues to Product Owners, Architects, and the management team.

Work effectively in a team environment and be willing to assist team members in achieving project goals when required.

Take personal ownership and accountability for delivering assigned tasks and deliverables within agreed timelines.

Maintain strong written and verbal communication throughout project activities.

Have experience in the retail banking domain; experience with Fiserv Signature International will be an added advantage.

Report to the Project Manager on work status and progress, ensuring timely and quality delivery.
