The Cyber Security team secures the internal IT infrastructure used by all Deloitte Staff, focusing on Server, Cloud, Storage, and Data Centres for Deloitte Australia. In addition to supporting core infrastructure, this role will play a critical part in embedding security by design across cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and Kubernetes environments.
- Work as a Senior Analyst in the Cyber Security Team supporting Deloitte Australia.
- Support and grow security practices the Deloitte Hybrid Cloud infrastructure, including virtualised networking and containerised platforms like Kubernetes.
- Take a security-focused approach when designing or reviewing cloud solutions, infrastructure changes, or architecture patterns.
- Assist with embedding security controls into CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes workloads, ensuring secure deployment practices.
- Collaborate with security teams to define and implement cloud-native security best practices across environments.
- Drive secure automation and orchestration strategies to streamline processes while maintaining security baselines.
- Provide support and guidance on infrastructure-related security considerations, working with internal teams to address risks and ensure compliance.
- Participate in security-focused architectural reviews of new infrastructure and cloud solutions.
- Perform complex problem resolution, root cause analysis, and identify opportunities for security and performance improvements.
- Maintain and monitor IT infrastructure and security posture using existing and evolving toolsets.
- Contribute to project delivery and ongoing operational excellence, ensuring secure and compliant implementation.
- Communicate progress and issues through regular Status Reports.
- Undertake ad-hoc duties as outlined by leads/managers.
- Demonstrate the ability to independently deliver with minimal escalation.
- Build rapport with senior stakeholders and drive strong cross-functional relationships.
- Share knowledge and identify opportunities for continuous improvement, including lessons learned with a security lens.
Shift Timings: 06.30 AM to 03.30 PM
The Team:
The Cyber Security team will be responsible for supporting the security posture of Deloitte’s cloud environments. The role is ideal for individuals with strong infrastructure or cloud experience looking to move into a Security Architecture career path. Prior security experience is not essential; however, a strong interest and willingness to grow in this area is key.
Qualifications Required:
- 3+ years of relevant experience in a large, complex IT infrastructure or cloud environment.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Solid understanding of Kubernetes, virtual networking, and cloud-native services.
- Familiarity with security concepts such as IAM, encryption, firewall rules, and least privilege access models.
- Experience or interest in secure CI/CD practices, container security, and compliance monitoring.
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, etc.) and experience with automation tools.
- Knowledge of IP networking, DNS, VPNs, load balancing, and firewalls.
- Ability to assess and review architecture and infrastructure with a security-first mindset.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, IT, computer science, or equivalent.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an eagerness to grow into a Security Architecture role.
Preferred:
- Certifications in AWS/Azure architecture or security (e.g., AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer).
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
- Experience with security scanning tools for containers, pipelines, and cloud services.
