Job Description

The Hardware & Networking Engineer / Server Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure across all office locations. This includes servers, network systems, and hardware assets. The role requires hands-on expertise in troubleshooting hardware and network issues, ensuring server uptime, implementing security measures, and providing both on-site and remote technical support.

Key Responsibilities1. Hardware & Networking Management

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, routers, switches, and other network devices.
  • Perform regular system upgrades and preventive maintenance on IT hardware.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware faults, LAN/WAN issues, and internet connectivity problems.
  • Monitor and maintain network performance to ensure maximum uptime.
  • Support IT setup, configuration, and maintenance for new branch offices or office relocations.

2. Server Administration

  • Manage, configure, and monitor Windows/Linux servers, file servers, mail servers, and backup servers.
  • Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies.
  • Ensure data backup processes, disaster recovery, and storage security policies are effectively implemented.
  • Monitor server health, resource utilization, and security logs to proactively prevent outages.
  • Perform OS patch management, version upgrades, and system optimization.

3. Security & Compliance

  • Implement and maintain firewall systems, antivirus solutions, and endpoint security tools.
  • Conduct regular IT system audits to ensure compliance with company security standards.
  • Manage user access rights, password policies, and overall IT security protocols.
  • Protect all systems from unauthorized access, vulnerabilities, and data breaches.

4. User Support & Coordination

  • Provide technical assistance to users through in-person support or remote troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate with IT vendors for procurement, AMC renewals, repairs, and technical support.
  • Maintain updated hardware inventory and IT asset management records.
  • Visit company branches as needed to oversee local IT infrastructure and provide support.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2–6 years of experience in hardware, networking, and server administration.
  • Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN, routers, switches, and network topologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and firewall systems.
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) preferred.
  • Familiarity with cloud backup solutions and remote monitoring tools is an advantage.
  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities and strong communication skills.
