Requirements
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Overview
Our organisation has successfully established a sophisticated Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) function in the past two years, utilising cutting-edge tools like R and Power BI to handle large-scale data. We have collaborated closely with various programs to co-design and implement effective impact measurement tools. Our approach includes developing comprehensive Theories of Change for the organisation and its programs, allowing us to seamlessly connect various experiences and insights. In the next three years, we plan to leverage our impact track record and learnings to be a leading thought leader in the sector and a role model of impact measurement. We are involved with one of the early Development Impact Bonds in education in India, are working on large-scale programmes, and are staying deeply rooted in our exemplar schools as innovation grounds – all of these pioneering initiatives come together to form a strong MEL launchpad for the organisation.
About The Role
The intern will support Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) efforts by contributing to retrospective action research on students' learning outcomes in Peepul’s Exemplar Schools. This will include hands-on experience in
study design
, developing
centralized data repository,
and assisting in the creation of
data
analysis frameworks.
Responsibilities Would Include (but Not Limited To):
- Data Collation and Centralized Data Repository Management
- Collate primary data from existing internal sources.
- Design and set up a centralized database tailored to the needs of the Exemplar School programme.
- Establish and maintain a well-structured folder hierarchy on the organization’s cloud storage platform.
- Contribute to the creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that document workflows and best practices for data management.
- Analysis Framework and Research Design Support
- Draft data analysis frameworks to support data processing and analysis for programmatic insights
- Support the MEL team in the research design phase, including defining key questions, indicators, and data needs
Requirements
At Peepul, we seek talented professionals passionate about driving educational transformation and making a positive impact. We are looking for individuals who possess the following qualifications and meet the role requirements:
- A relevant educational background in information management, data science, education, public policy, economics, statistics, mathematics or a related field. Candidates may be currently pursuing or have completed their degree.
- Understanding of and familiarity with quantitative research in social sciences
- Proficiency with MS-Office suite, including Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with structured data storage.
- Ability to understand, contribute to, and document data analysis frameworks and workflows.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Hindi and English.
- Full time interns who are available to work from Peepul’s Delhi office at least 3 days per week.
Renumeration and Internship Duration
This is a paid,
two-month internship
opportunity. The selected intern will receive a competitive stipend of
INR 20,000 per month
. This role offers hands-on experience in data handling and analysis, mentorship and guidance, and a supportive work environment.
