Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Insurance Claim Surveyor to join our in-house claims team. The surveyor will be responsible for conducting accurate assessments of insured losses, ensuring policy compliance, detecting potential fraud, and supporting fair and timely claim settlements. The role involves field inspections, claim analysis, and detailed reporting to support the claims management process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough on-site inspections of insured property, vehicles, or assets involved in claims.
  • Evaluate the nature, extent, and cause of damage or loss.
  • Determine the liability and estimate the quantum of loss in accordance with policy terms and conditions.
  • Collect and verify documents, photographic evidence, witness statements, and repair estimates.
  • Prepare and submit detailed technical survey reports within prescribed timelines.
  • Coordinate with internal teams including underwriting, legal, and customer service for claim resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and IRDAI guidelines (or relevant local authority).
  • Identify and report suspicious or fraudulent claims.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of claims assessment processes and tools.
  • Support claim negotiations and customer communications as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Automobile, etc.), Insurance, or a related field.
  • Valid IRDAI surveyor license (as per Indian regulations) or equivalent certification required by local regulatory body.
  • 3+ years of experience in insurance claim surveying or loss assessment.
  • Knowledge of general insurance products (Motor, Property, Engineering, Marine, etc.).

Key Skills:

  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and objective judgment.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
  • Proficient with surveyor software/tools, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage fieldwork and travel regularly for site visits.
  • Customer-centric approach and problem-solving mindset.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience working with an insurance company (vs third-party/freelance).
  • Multiline exposure (e.g., motor, property, marine).
  • Familiarity with digital claims management platforms.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
