Job Title: Safety Officer Department: EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) Location: Bhiwandi Reporting To : Plant Head Employment Type: Full-Time / Permanent Role & responsibilities Preferred candidate profile :- Key Responsibilities: Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to Factories Act, 1948, and local safety regulations. Maintain all statutory records related to safety, health, and environment. Coordinate with authorities during audits or inspections (e.g., DISH, MPCB). Safety Audits & Risk Assessment: Conduct periodic workplace safety inspections and risk assessments. Identify hazards and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Maintain safety scorecards and incident logs. Training & Awareness: Conduct safety induction for new employees, contractors, and visitors. Organize toolbox talks, mock drills (fire, chemical spill, evacuation). Promote a safety-first culture through campaigns and workshops. Incident Management: Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe practices. Prepare reports (FIR, root cause analysis, corrective actions). Ensure timely reporting to statutory bodies and management. Emergency Preparedness: Maintain emergency response plans and fire safety systems. Ensure availability and readiness of first-aid kits, PPEs, and fire extinguishers. Liaison with local fire station, hospitals, and emergency services. Monitoring & Reporting: Track safety KPIs: LTI, TRIR, first aid cases, unsafe acts. Maintain updated MSDS for chemicals and hazardous materials. Prepare monthly safety reports for management review. Documentation & Compliance: Maintain documentation for ISO 45001, EMS (14001), and audits. Ensure safe practices in machine operation, confined space entry, hot work, etc. Enforce permit-to-work (PTW) system. Required Skills & Qualifications: Education: Diploma / Degree in Engineering + Industrial Safety (recognized by DGFASLI / State Govt.) Experience: 25 years in EHS/Safety role in manufacturing industry Certifications: ISO 45001 / NEBOSH (preferred) Skills: Strong knowledge of EHS regulations Risk analysis, root cause identification Good communication & training delivery Report writing & incident documentation
