HVAC Project Manager

An HVAC Project Manager oversees the planning, design, and installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems from start to finish. Key responsibilities include managing project scope, budgets, and timelines; coordinating with clients, designers, and subcontractors; ensuring quality and safety compliance; and managing client relationships and project handover.

Key responsibilities

Project planning and management: Develop project plans, set deadlines, and manage budgets for HVAC installations.

Design and engineering coordination: Review and oversee HVAC designs, ensuring they meet project specifications, energy codes, and standards.

Procurement and vendor management: Manage the procurement of HVAC equipment and oversee relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.

On-site supervision: Conduct site visits to monitor progress, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and provide technical support to the installation team.

Client and stakeholder communication: Act as the main point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders, providing technical advice and ensuring satisfaction.

Problem-solving: Identify and resolve issues that arise during the project to keep it on track.

Project handover: Oversee the final stages of the project, including commissioning, documentation, and final handover to the client.

Qualifications and skills

Significant experience in commercial HVAC installation is often required.

A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field can be beneficial.

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Proficiency in project management tools is often required.

Knowledge of industry codes and standards, such as ASHRAE and NBC, is necessary.
