HVAC Design & Drafting Engineer

As an HVAC Design & Drafting Engineer, your role involves creating technical drawings, designs, and calculations for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. You will ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and code compliance for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Your responsibilities will include: - Performing detailed heating/cooling load calculations and designing ductwork, piping, and other HVAC system components. - Selecting appropriate HVAC equipment like chillers, air handling units (AHUs), fans, and variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems based on project requirements. - Developing detailed schematics, layouts, and blueprints for HVAC systems using CAD software such as AutoCAD and Revit. - Ensuring all designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations. - Preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), design documentation, and maintaining accurate records of all work. - Working closely with architects, structural engineers, and other project consultants to integrate HVAC designs into the overall building project. - Visiting sites to gather inputs, assess requirements, and conduct quality checks during different project stages. - Addressing technical challenges related to air quality, energy efficiency, and system installation. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. - Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit), HAP, or Trane Trace for load calculations, and knowledge of HVAC principles and standards. - Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with project teams and clients. - Project and time management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines efficiently. - Analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze technical problems and develop creative solutions.
