Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our rapidly growing engineering team in India. This is a critical role that will focus on enhancing employee performance, productivity, and overall employee experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product-based startups and a proven ability to implement impactful HR programs.

Responsibilities:

• Performance Management:

• Oversee and manage the performance appraisal process, including goal setting at the beginning of each quarter and conducting appraisals at the end of the quarter.
• Ensure mandatory one-on-one sessions between managers and direct reports are held at least once a month.
• Develop and implement systematic processes for identifying and addressing underperformance.

• Employee Engagement & Recognition:

• Design and implement effective rewards and recognition programs (not necessarily monetary) to acknowledge and motivate high-performing individuals and teams within engineering.
• Develop and execute engaging team bonding activities on a monthly or quarterly basis.

• Onboarding & Retention:

• Ensure a positive and seamless onboarding experience for all new engineering hires.
• Implement strategies to retain high performers and reduce attrition.

• Talent Management:

• Partner with leadership to identify and address talent gaps, contributing to long-term workforce planning.
• Support the systematic process of managing underperformers.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, with a significant portion in a Human Resources Business Partner role.
• Demonstrated experience working in fast-paced, scaling startup environments in India.
• Proven ability to design, implement, and manage HR programs focused on performance, productivity, and employee engagement.
• Strong understanding of HR best practices and labor laws in India.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with employees at all levels.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
