Job Summary:
The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for managing end-to-end HR operations for the group, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, compliance, and HR administration. The role requires a seasoned HR professional who can act as a strategic partner to business leaders while ensuring smooth day-to-day HR functioning in a dynamic financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Workforce Planning:
- Drive the full recruitment cycle, including manpower planning with business heads, ensuring end to end closure.
- Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline through multiple channels such as professional networks, recruitment agencies, referrals, job portals, and campus hiring for junior roles.
- Ensure timely issuance of offer letters, appointment letters.
Onboarding and Induction:
- Design a structured onboarding and induction program for new joiners, ensuring they understand company policies, culture, business lines, and key stakeholders.
- Assign buddies or mentors where relevant to support smooth integration and faster ramp-up of new employees.
Employee Relations and Engagement:
- Act as a first point of contact for employees on HR-related queries, grievance handling, and workplace concerns while ensuring fair and timely resolution.
- Partner with leaders to maintain a positive work climate, promote open communication, and reinforce the groups culture and values.
- Plan and execute engagement initiatives such as team-building activities, town halls, R&R programs, wellness initiatives, and festive events to improve morale and retention.
HR Operations, Administration and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, personal files, and HR databases, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Oversee HRMS-related activities, including attendance, leave management, and employee life-cycle transactions (joining, transfers, confirmations, exits).)
- Coordinate with the finance/payroll team for timely and error-free payroll processing, ensuring all changes (new joiners, exits, increments, variable pay, leave without pay) are captured.
- Maintain compliance-related records, support audits, and implement corrective actions to minimize HR and labour-related risks.
Compensation, Performance Management and Benchmarking:
- Support the implementation of compensation structures, annual increments, and incentive schemes in line with internal policies and market benchmarks.
- Assist in administering employee benefits such as insurance, reimbursements, gratuity, PF, and other statutory and company-specific benefits.
- Coordinate the performance management cycle, including goal setting, mid-year and annual appraisals, feedback discussions, and documentation, ensuring consistency and fairness.
Learning, Development, and HR Analytics:
- Identify training needs through discussions with managers, performance reviews, and feedback; coordinate internal and external training programs, workshops, and learning sessions.
- Maintain training calendars, attendance, and effectiveness feedback to continuously improve learning initiatives.
- Track and report key HR metrics such as headcount, attrition, hiring timelines, diversity, and engagement indicators to management, using data to support decisions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree (MBA/PGDM in HR) is preferred.
- 12–15 years of progressive HR experience, ideally with exposure to NBFCs, ARCs, investment banking, or broader financial services.
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, Indian labour laws, and HR operations, including recruitment, performance management, payroll coordination, and employee relations.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with senior management.
- Proficiency in MS Office and HR systems/HRMS; comfort working with data and HR analytics will be an added advantage.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism, with a hands-on and solution-oriented approach.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Prior experience in an ARC, NBFC, asset management company, or investment banking/financial services setup.
- Exposure to HR in mid-sized or growing organizations where setting up or strengthening processes was required.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, manage multiple priorities, and independently drive HR initiatives end to end.
