Role Overview

My Design Minds is hiring an experienced and hands-on HR Generalist who can take complete ownership of talent acquisition and core HR operations in a fast-growing design and engineering company. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a startup or MSME environment, where processes are built from scratch and decisions are taken quickly.

The HR Generalist will play a critical role in building the right team, maintaining day-to-day HR operations, and ensuring smooth people management across the organization. This position requires strong hiring judgment, accountability, and practical HR execution skills, rather than corporate policy-heavy HR experience.

This is not a corporate HR role with fixed processes and limited scope. You will work directly with the founder, support rapid hiring needs, and contribute to shaping HR systems, policies, and SOPs that support business growth.

Key Responsibilities Hiring & Talent Acquisition (70%)

  • Manage end-to-end hiring for multiple roles, including engineering, design, sales, and operations
  • Screen resumes, shortlist relevant candidates, and conduct first-round interviews
  • Evaluate candidates based on skills, attitude, mindset, and cultural fit, not just resumes
  • Maintain a strong backup database of candidates for current and future hiring needs
  • Coordinate interview schedules, follow-ups, and communication with candidates
  • Handle offer rollout, salary discussions, and joining confirmations
  • Ensure reduced hiring risks by using structured screening and evaluation methods
  • Support urgent and bulk hiring requirements for project-based and business-critical roles

The HR Generalist is expected to take ownership of hiring quality, ensuring that wrong or mismatched hires are minimized.

HR Operations (30%)

  • Manage employee onboarding and exit formalities, including documentation and handovers
  • Track attendance, leave records, and basic salary coordination
  • Maintain accurate employee records, HR files, and compliance documentation
  • Draft and implement HR policies, SOPs, and internal guidelines aligned with company culture
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee queries, concerns, and basic discipline matters
  • Support probation reviews, confirmations, and performance tracking
  • Ensure HR processes remain simple, practical, and aligned with business needs

Mandatory Skills & Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience as an HR Generalist handling both hiring and HR operations
  • Strong talent assessment and people evaluation skills
  • Practical understanding of payroll basics, attendance management, and HR documentation
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup or MSME environment
  • Comfortable handling pressure, multiple priorities, and rapid hiring demands
  • Good communication skills in Hindi and English
  • Willingness to take ownership and work closely with business leadership

Salary & Compensation

  • ₹20,000 – ₹25,000 per month, depending on experience, hiring capability, and ownership
