Job Description

Role & responsibilities

The HR Generalist / HR Manager will be responsible for managing end-to-end human resource operations. This role requires a proactive, hands-on HR professional capable of independently handling recruitment, employee lifecycle management, compliance, payroll coordination, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives while supporting organizational growth and culture.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Manage the complete recruitment lifecycle including manpower planning, sourcing, screening, interviewing, salary negotiation, and offer rollout
  • Coordinate with department heads to understand hiring needs and job requirements
  • Maintain recruitment trackers, vendor coordination, and recruitment MIS reports

Employee Onboarding & Exit Management

  • Handle employee on boarding including documentation, induction programs, HRMS updates, and orientation
  • Ensure smooth exit formalities including resignation processing, clearance, F&F settlement, and exit interviews
  • Maintain accurate employee lifecycle records

HR Operations & Documentation

  • Maintain employee master data, personal files, attendance records, and HR documentation
  • Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of HR records
  • Manage HRMS, leave management, attendance, and employee data systems (Zoho HRMS preferred)

Payroll & Compensation Support

  • Prepare monthly payroll inputs including attendance, leave, incentives, deductions, and reimbursements
  • Coordinate with finance/accounts team for payroll processing and salary disbursement
  • Address employee payroll-related queries and discrepancies

Statutory Compliance & Labor Laws

  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements such as PF, ESIC, PT, Gratuity, Bonus, Shops & Establishment Act, and other applicable labor laws
  • Maintain statutory registers, filings, and documentation
  • Liaise with consultants and authorities for audits, inspections, and compliance matters

Performance Management

  • Coordinate performance appraisal cycles and goal-setting processes
  • Maintain appraisal records and support performance improvement initiatives
  • Assist in designing KPI frameworks and performance reports

Employee Engagement & Relations

  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, team-building activities, and HR programs
  • Handle employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution
  • Support positive workplace culture and employee satisfaction

HR Policies & Reporting

  • Assist in drafting, implementing, and updating HR policies, SOPs, and employee handbook
  • Prepare HR dashboards, MIS reports, attrition analysis, and manpower reports
  • Support management with HR analytics and insights

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or MBA in Human Resources or a related field
  • 36 years of relevant HR Generalist / HR Manager experience
  • Hands-on experience in HR operations and compliance

Key HR Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and Indian labour laws
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking abilities
  • Problem-solving mind-set with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HRMS tools (Zoho preferred)
