Job Overview:
The HR and Compliance Executive plays a crucial role in ensuring that the construction company operates in compliance with regulations, maintains accurate attendance records, processes payroll efficiently and accurately, and manages recruitment activities to attract, hire, and onboard the right talent for both site and office roles.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance Management:
Stay current on relevant federal, state, and local regulations affecting the construction industry.
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with safety, labor, and other regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with other departments to address compliance concerns and implement corrective actions.
Keep accurate records of compliance-related activities.
Attendance Management:
Implement and enforce attendance policies for construction site and office staff.
Maintain accurate records of employee attendance, including hours worked, overtime, and leave.
Address attendance-related issues and work with supervisors to resolve discrepancies.
Generate reports on attendance trends and provide insights for improvement.
Recruitment and Hiring:
Coordinate the end-to-end recruitment process for both site and office roles.
Source candidates through job portals, social media, agencies, and referrals.
Screen resumes, conduct initial interviews, and coordinate final rounds with hiring managers.
Support smooth onboarding and induction of new employees.
Payroll Coordination:
Oversee the entire payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Process and reconcile payroll for construction site and office employees.
Collaborate with the finance department to ensure proper accounting for payroll expenses.
Handle payroll-related inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
Timekeeping Systems:
Implement and manage timekeeping systems to track employee work hours accurately.
Train employees and supervisors on the proper use of timekeeping tools.
Troubleshoot any issues related to timekeeping systems and address discrepancies.
Communication and Training:
Communicate compliance, attendance, and payroll policies to employees.
Conduct training sessions for staff to ensure understanding and adherence to policies.
Serve as a POC for employees with questions or concerns related to compliance, attendance, or payroll.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain organized records of compliance, attendance, and payroll data.
Generate reports for management, providing insights into trends, compliance status, and payroll expenses.
Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies.
Qualification/ Eligibility Criteria:
Bachelor's degree with specialization in Human Resources, or a related field.
Minimum 4-6 years exp in compliance, attendance, payroll & recruitment (construction industry preferred).
Knowledge of PF/ ESI, labor practices and other compliances applicable to the construction industry.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Proficient in using payroll software, timekeeping systems and recruitment platforms/portals.
Excellent communication, training and interpersonal skills.
