Jewellery HR Generalist – Job Description

Position Overview

The HR Generalist in the jewelry industry is responsible for handling end-to-end HR operations including recruitment, training, employee relations, performance management, and compliance. This role requires understanding of jewelry manufacturing/retail workflows, job roles such as craftsmen, CAD designers, sales staff, QC teams, and store employees.

Key Responsibilities

1. Recruitment & Onboarding

Source, screen, and hire candidates for manufacturing, retail, sales, and corporate positions.

Coordinate interviews and manage end-to-end onboarding formalities.

Conduct background verification for staff and artisans (karigars).

2. Training & Development

Organize product knowledge sessions (diamonds, gold, gemstones, jewelry processes).

Plan skill development programs for craftsmen, sales staff, and store teams.

Track training attendance and evaluate effectiveness.

3. Employee Relations & Engagement

Maintain positive relations with employees, karigars, and store staff.

Handle grievances professionally and ensure quick resolution.

Plan employee engagement events, reward programs, and retention initiatives.

4. Attendance, Payroll & Compliance

Maintain attendance, leave records, and shift schedules.

Coordinate with accounts team for payroll processing.

Ensure compliance with labor laws, factory rules, ESIC, PF, and safety regulations.

Maintain HR documentation, contracts, and statutory records.

5. Performance Management

Coordinate appraisal cycles for retail and production teams.

Track KPIs for sales staff and productivity for manufacturing staff.

Provide feedback to department heads and support promotions/role changes.

6. HR Policies & Administration

Implement and update HR policies specific to jewelry industry standards.

Ensure maintenance of employee files, contracts, and HRMIS entries.

Coordinate workplace safety, shop-floor discipline, and hygiene standards.

Key Skills Required

Strong understanding of jewelry industry roles (goldsmiths, diamond setters, polishers, CAD designers).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of labor laws and HR compliance.

Recruitment & talent management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
