Objectives& Deliverables of this Role

(i)Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives for Raw materials and Excipients through the effective deployment of internal and external intelligence such as industry scope and scale, supplier capabilities and capacities, specification data, emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory needs

(ii) Drive progressive improvement in supply capability by formulating and implementing category management strategies based on quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and innovation.

(iii) Build a strong network of quality and cost effective suppliers in the domestic and overseas market and progressively explore and develop alternate sources to reduce dependence on existing suppliers and obtain better pricing.

(iv)Develop and appoint contract manufacturers based on quality,commercial and delivery effectiveness while ensuring strong alignment to pre-set performance standards and conformance to statutory / regulatory requirements, company specified standards and any other specific requirements of customers

(v)Develop sourcing plans to support stretch- volume needs in a resource-optimal way while adhering to the performance standards mandated by the procurement and quality policy of the company

(vi) Implement supply-risk mitigation strategies for critical raw materials and intermediates, regulatory sensitive products, and high-value shipments

(vii)Work closely with production and planning teams to conduct periodic materials planning and ensure adherence to customer service SLAs, inventory norms and production schedules through strong follow ups with suppliers to provide continuous supply without fail

(viii)Translate finished goods specifications,processing needs, quality standards and regulatory norms into Raw material sourcing parameters to ensure optimum buying plans

(ix)Collaborate closely with R&D, QA,Regulatory Affairs and Finance teams to ensure seamless new product and product variant introductions.

(x). Closely work with QA department in
a)developing and maintaining raw material risk assessment and mitigation models for supply of compliant raw material b) supporting audits of raw material vendors and job work locations for vendor qualification and performance and risk analysis c)strengthening supplier quality programs to ensure that sourced materials meet regulatory and internal quality standards. d)building and maintaining robust quality systems (QMS) including deviation management, CAPA, complaint handling, change control, and audit readiness. (xi)Coordinate with Finance & Accounts for timely vendor payments while devising plans for effective working capital management .

• Strong analytical skills, data analysis acumen and proficiency in supply chain management software and tools.
• Problem solver who can debottleck and generate pragmatic solutions to efficiently react to changing needs, while also devising systemic fixes to address root causes
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, customer needs and regulatory changes to proactively adjust and optimise sourcing plans
• Strong negotiations skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Coach and handhold team members to effectively adopt and institutionalize functional best practices
