About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Head of Stores to oversee the management and operations of our Valve manufacturing unit’s storage and inventory department. The role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth handling, control, and distribution of materials and products across the supply chain. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing large inventories, implementing efficient processes, and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the stores and warehouse for the Valve manufacturing unit, ensuring optimal inventory levels and timely material availability.
  • Develop and implement strategies for inventory control, cost reduction, and efficient materials handling.
  • Lead a team of storekeepers and warehouse staff, providing training, guidance, and performance management.
  • Collaborate closely with production, procurement, and supply chain teams to align inventory processes with production schedules and demand forecasts.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all materials are tracked efficiently through the ERP system.
  • Drive process improvements to optimize space utilization, reduce lead times, and minimize stock discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare regular reports on inventory levels, material consumption, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Manage vendor relationships for storage-related services and supplies as needed.
  • Knowledge in making modernised stores setup for operational efficiency, Digitalization & Continual improvements (Improvement Orientation)
  • Motivate the team for personal and professional development


Desired Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in a stores/warehouse role, preferably in the manufacturing or engineering sector.
  • Proven experience managing large inventories and leading a stores/warehouse team.
  • Familiarity with SAP and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, inventory management techniques, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
