Job Description

Position Title: Sales Head – GT (North India) Location: Delhi NCR / Sonepat / Chandigarh (Travel across North India) Department: Sales – Mattress Division Reports To: Director – Sales & Commercials CTC Range: As per industry standards + Incentives + Travel Allowance Role Summary: The Sales Head – GT North India will be responsible for driving aggressive growth of the mattress business through general trade (distributors and retailers) across North India. This includes setting up the distribution network, onboarding and activating dealers, achieving primary and secondary sales targets, and building a high-performing sales team. Key Responsibilities: 1. Distribution Network Development: Appoint and manage distributors and super stockists across key territories in North India (Delhi NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, UP, Uttarakhand, Himachal, J&K). Ensure distributor ROI, coverage, and adherence to sales process. Expand market presence to 1000+ retail counters in Phase 1. 2. Sales Target Achievement: Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets (primary and secondary). Design and implement retail schemes, TOD programs, and sales promotions. Monitor pricing, competition activity, and consumer trends. 3. Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and lead a team of Area Sales Managers, Territory Sales Officers, and field executives. Conduct performance reviews and ensure consistent field discipline. Build a sales culture focused on ownership, aggression, and accountability. 4. Channel Engagement: Build strong relationships with key retailers and dealers. Conduct product training, promotional activities, and brand-building initiatives at the ground level. Handle market complaints and ensure customer satisfaction. 5. Reporting & Strategy: Maintain daily/weekly MIS and market intelligence reports. Work closely with marketing, product, and supply chain teams to align goals. Participate in monthly review meetings and contribute to business strategy. Key KPIs: Sales Revenue (Primary & Secondary) Retail Counter Activation Distributor Productivity Sales Team Productivity Market Coverage Expansion Qualifications: Graduate/Post-Graduate in Business Administration or Marketing. 8–12 years of experience in FMCG/Consumer Durables/Foam/Mattress industry. Proven track record in general trade sales and team handling.
