Head of Production (Carbon Black)

Job Purpose: Plan and control Production in order to enable the organization to achieve targeted production of carbon black with customer quality at optimal cost and also to achieve total customer satisfaction in coordination with all support functions, through laid down quality systems.

KRAs

1. During Greenfield setup phase

• Develop new processes and improve existing processes
• Optimize process parameters to improve efficiency and productivity
• Troubleshoot process problems and develop solutions
• Work with operators to implement process changes
• Document and maintain process documentation
• Stay up-to-date on the latest process engineering technologies
• Pre-commissioning and Commissioning activities of new units.
• Proficient in process engineering software (e.g., Aspen Plus, Simio, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of process equipment and instrumentation
• Ability to read and interpret process drawings
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

2. Production (Carbon Black) : Effective planning and coordination for producing different Carbon Black grades

• Monitoring and standardizing process parameters. Arranging all input resources. Coordination with intra/inter dept. personnel.
• Getting the key process variables fine tuned after inline product inspection.
• Quality variance analysis through quality report on daily basis. Indent Preparation, GRN approval & Dept.
• Inventory control. Monitoring plant condition and performance on daily basis.

3. Process Improvement : Contribute to improvement in Quality Management System related to process& ensure its implementation to produce Quality product for customer satisfaction with Cost Effectiveness.

• Analysis of production and departmental Quality Indicators performance.
• Contribute in Developing the process parameters for customers specific requirement Vendor development.
• Monitoring& coordinating execution of Modifications in process related projects in plant.

4. Smooth Plant Operation: Reduction in Plant Breakdowns. Proactive approach to avoid process upsets (This is critical due to inherent nature

• Facilitating maintenance activities like preventive, predictive, break down & Annual Shut down in production and . Maintaining production related equipment history and analyzing their life cycle.

5.QMS : Plan standardization of Quality Management System &to ensure its effective deployment.

• Guiding, coordinating &monitoring with subordinate staff for implementation and compliance of the international system standards.
• Formulating required systems, procedures &one-point lessons for process standardization.

6.People Development : Motivate and ensure development of teams through various HR initiatives to raise competency level.

• On job training as per identified training needs. Participative & Transparent culture through teamwork like 5S, QC, KSS, JIT concept& CFT approach.
• To develop training program for Employees development and ensure compliance.
• Developing potential candidates as successor.

7.Maintenance: Execution of maintenance activities of process related critical equipment's such as Reactors, Bag Filters etc. for effective maintenance. Monitoring maintenance jobs and equipment healthiness.

• Periodic inspection of maintenance work. Resource mobilization monitoring PM activity of equipment's.
• Monitoring quality of maintenance jobs, timely bringing back the plant to operation.

8.Safety : Execution of all activities with utmost importance to safety for providing a safe working environment.

• Reviewingthe Safety Standards time to time.
• Ensuring the SafetyCompliances.
• Follow up for safety related jobs for speedy implementation.

9.Pollution Emissions Control

• Bringing Awareness among the subordinates for faster control of emissions.
