As part of Capita's ongoing transformation and commitment to procurement excellence, the Procurement Operations Manager will build and lead a high-performing team responsible for delivering competitive tenders, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the continuity of operational procurement support across Divisional requirements. A key initial priority will be to support the design, build, and successful transition of procurement activities into a centralised shared services model, enabling greater efficiency, consistency, and scalability across the function.
This role is pivotal in supporting strategic sourcing activities, maintaining supplier performance standards, and embedding best practices across procurement operations. You will be instrumental in developing team capabilities, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring procurement operations align with Capita's global procurement strategy.

Job Description:

As Procurement Operations Manager, you will:

  • Lead a team focused on operational procurement delivery, including competitive tendering, supplier onboarding, and supplier compliance.
  • Ensure procurement processes are executed efficiently and in alignment with Capita's sourcing policies and governance frameworks.
  • Support strategic sourcing teams by providing data analysis, and supplier performance feedback.
  • Champion supplier relationship management practices, ensuring consistent engagement and performance monitoring with customer related contractual committments.
  • Develop and mentor a learning team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with category managers and divisional stakeholders to ensure procurement operations support broader business goals.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage end-to-end tendering processes (RFIs, RFPs, RFQs), ensuring transparency, competitiveness, and compliance in alignment with agreed customer SLAs.
  • Implement and maintain procurement operational KPIs, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Support supplier performance reviews and risk assessments in collaboration with category leads.
  • Drive process improvements across procurement operations, leveraging technology and automation where applicable.
  • Build and lead a high-performing operational team, providing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities.

Key Activities

  • Execute and manage core procurement processes with structured documentation and stakeholder alignment for transactional quoting.
  • Maintain supplier databases, contract repositories, and compliance records in alignment with our supplier management framework.
  • Conduct supplier performance tracking and escalate issues as needed.
  • Facilitate procurement training and onboarding for new team members and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with functional teams to ensure procurement operations meet audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Support procurement transformation initiatives, including process standardisation and digital enablement.
