Head of Operations- Mechanical Engineering

In this role, you will be responsible for the design and engineering of machines, requiring a high level of expertise in mechanical engineering. Your key responsibilities will include: - Hands-on experience in machine design and design engineering, with a focus on maintaining and running factory tools, CNCs, and WIP inspection for quality control. - Management experience, including leading teams of up to 15 people and managing multi-layer reporting structures. - Successful execution of machine design or product design projects as a project lead, with a proven track record of pitching ideas, planning, budgeting, hiring, and project execution. - Familiarity with industrial methodologies and standards, such as Design Thinking, Kanban, Kaizen, Just in Time, and quality control methodologies like Six Sigma. - Direct client engagement for project work and delivery, as well as experience in handling contractors and vendors. Qualifications required for this role: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. - Overall experience of up to 20 years, with specific requirements of 10 to 15 years in machine design and design engineering, and 5 to 10 years in management. - Strong verbal and written technical communication and presentation skills. - Leadership and coordination skills for engaging multi-disciplinary teams. - Strong project management and risk assessment skills. - Technical skills in software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Ansys - FEA/FEM, and hands-on experience in fields such as heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, kinematics, machine design principles, strength of materials, and vibration control. - Knowledge of G-code programming, programming for CNCs, and coding using C/Java/Python. - Expertise in assessing risk factors, computing ROI, planning project timelines, selecting tech stack, and team building.
