We are hiring for Head- Legal & Compliance with a leading pharmaceutical company. Details are as mentioned below.


Role Overview:

As the Legal Head, you will partner with senior leadership to define legal strategy, proactively mitigate risks, and ensure full compliance with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will bring deep legal expertise, strong litigation acumen, and a clear understanding of the pharmaceutical landscape.


Key Job Responsibilities


1. Legal Strategy & Governance

  • Develop and drive legal strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Advise executive leadership on legal risks, strategic initiatives, and governance matters.

2. Commercial & Contract Law

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial agreements (manufacturing, distribution, licensing, marketing, vendor).
  • Ensure compliance with domestic and international commercial and trade laws.

3. Litigation & Dispute Management

  • Lead civil, criminal, and regulatory litigation.
  • Manage external counsel and oversee litigation strategy in India and overseas.
  • Represent the organization in courts, tribunals, and before government authorities.

4. Pharma Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to applicable laws including Drugs & Cosmetics Act, DPCO, CDSCO regulations, and other pharma-specific requirements.
  • Advise regulatory and quality teams on drug approvals, labeling, trials, and promotional practices.

5. Criminal Law & Internal Investigations

  • Lead investigations into fraud, whistleblower complaints, and criminal allegations.
  • Coordinate with enforcement agencies (Police, ED, CBI, Drug Authorities) as required.

6. Intellectual Property Oversight

  • Support IP strategy related to trademarks, patents, and brand protection.
  • Work with IP counsel on infringement matters and filings.

7. Team Leadership & Legal Enablement

  • Manage and mentor a team of in-house legal professionals.
  • Build legal awareness across functions through training and cross-functional support.


What We’re Looking For


  • Qualification:

    LLB/LLM from a reputed university (specialization in Corporate or Criminal Law preferred).
  • Experience:

    20+ years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in

    the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Expertise:

    Deep knowledge of civil, criminal, corporate, and pharma regulatory frameworks; experience handling litigation and regulatory compliance in both domestic and international settings.
