Job Description

Job Summary:


We are seeking an experienced and results-driven professional to lead our Government Business Sales vertical. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the public sector ecosystem, experience in dealing with central and state government bodies, and a proven track record of driving strategic sales and revenue growth.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Sales Leadership:

  • Lead and grow the Government Business vertical, with responsibility for revenue, margins, and strategic partnerships.
  • Drive end-to-end sales cycles – from lead generation to contract closure.
  • Stakeholder Management:

  • Build strong relationships with key government stakeholders including ministries, public sector undertakings (PSUs), and regulatory bodies.
  • Engage with senior bureaucrats, procurement officers, and influencers to create business opportunities.
  • Business Development & Tendering:

  • Identify and evaluate new tenders, RFPs, and business opportunities from central/state government agencies.
  • Lead bid management, proposal development, and pricing strategies in compliance with government procurement norms.
  • Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and execute the annual business plan for the government vertical.
  • Forecast sales targets, pipeline development, and competitive positioning.
  • Compliance & Documentation:

  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, contracts, and documentation mandated by government agencies.
  • Coordinate with legal, finance, and compliance teams for timely submissions and approvals.
  • Team Leadership:

  • Build and mentor a high-performing sales team focused on government accounts.
  • Provide regular training, performance management, and career development.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in government sales, preferably in sectors like IT/ICT, defense, energy, infrastructure, or healthcare.
  • Strong understanding of government procurement procedures, GeM portal, e-tendering, and public sector contracting.
  • Should have liaising with Government Departments
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience working with ministries, PSUs, and state governments.
  • MBA or equivalent degree in business, marketing, or public policy preferred.
