Job Title: Head Chef

Department: Kitchen / Food & Beverage
Reports To: General Manager / Restaurant Owner

Job Summary

The Head Chef is responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, menu development, kitchen staff management, food safety compliance, and cost control while maintaining exceptional culinary standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and update menus in line with brand standards and customer preferences
• Oversee daily kitchen operations and food preparation
• Lead, train, schedule, and supervise kitchen staff
• Ensure consistent food quality, taste, and presentation
• Manage food costs, portion control, and inventory
• Source ingredients and coordinate with suppliers
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
• Monitor kitchen equipment and arrange maintenance when needed
• Collaborate with management on budgeting and operational planning
• Handle special dietary requirements and guest feedback

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef
• Strong culinary expertise and creativity
• Leadership and team management skills
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Cost control and inventory management experience
• Culinary degree or relevant certification (preferred)

Working Conditions
