Job Description

Role & responsibilities

A. Strategic Leadership

  • Provide visionary and operational leadership for the Road Tolling, Parking, Track & Trace, and RFID/ GPS-based solutions to similar industries verticals.
  • Develop and implement long-term strategic goals and policies to achieve business targets, including revenue in excess of 200 Cr and 20% EBITDA.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure alignment of financial, operational, customer, and innovation goals.

B. Business Development & Alliances

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities in the tolling sector, including building strategic alliances and forming consortia with leading players.
  • Drive toll revenue growth through innovative strategies and market expansion.
  • Administer necessary project clearances and approvals from relevant agencies (NHAI, IHMCL, MoRTH, MSRDC, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain senior-level relationships with stakeholders including NHAI PIU, RO Offices, IHMCL, local authorities, and government bodies.

C. Project & Operational Excellence

  • Oversee execution of Toll Management Systems (TMS) and Advanced Tolling (ATMS) projects, ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery.
  • Manage force majeure claim settlements, performance bond refunds, and contractual compliance.
  • Drive operational efficiency through continuous process improvements and team mentoring.
  • Implement related Standardisation Testing and Quality Certification (STQC)

D. Innovation & Technology

  • Spearhead modernization initiatives for toll plazas using AI, IoT, blockchain, RFID, GNSS/GPS and other innovative technologies.
  • Lead product and software development teams to enhance performance of tolling, Smart Parking Solutions, and tracking systems.
  • Foster partnerships with startups, R&D institutions, and technology providers to accelerate digital transformation.

E. Financial Oversight

  • Ensure efficient financial management including cash flow monitoring, working capital optimization, and cost rationalization.
  • Develop strategic plans to support fiscal targets and share key performance updates with internal and external stakeholders.

F. Customer Centricity & Compliance

  • Enhance customer satisfaction through robust feedback mechanisms and agile support systems.
  • Ensure all toll and tracking operations are compliant with legal, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • Build retention and pricing strategies to improve margins and client loyalty.

Preferred candidate profile

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering / Technology.
  • MBA/PGDM in Business Strategy, Operations, or related fields is highly preferred.

Experience:

  • 20+ years of experience in infrastructure technology or related sectors, including at least 8-10 years in senior leadership roles.
  • Proven experience managing toll projects, revenue operations, public-private partnerships (PPP), and working with government entities like NHAI, IHMCL and MSRDC.
  • Track record in building and leading large multi-disciplinary teams and delivering complex technology-enabled infrastructure projects.

    – Ability to translate long-term vision into actionable business plans.
  • Client Engagement

    – Act as a delivery escalation point and ensure client satisfaction through proactive communication and resolution.
  • Relationship Management

    – Strong liaison capabilities with government agencies, commissionaires, partners, and regulatory bodies.
  • Financial Acumen

    – Expertise in budgeting, cost control, and revenue optimization.
  • Project Management

    – Deep knowledge of tolling projects, parking systems, GPS/RFID technologies.
  • Technology Leadership

    – Familiarity with TMS, ATMS, GNSS, IoT, AI, and blockchain-based applications.
  • People Leadership

    – Strong mentorship, conflict resolution, and team-building abilities.
  • Contract & Commercial Negotiation

    – Skilled in handling large contracts, SLAs, and legal settlements.
  • Customer Centricity

    – Focus on delivering customer value and enhancing service delivery.
  • Risk & Compliance Oversight

    – Mitigate operational risks and ensure adherence to regulatory, safety, and contractual standards.
  • Performance Monitoring

    – Establish KPIs, SLAs, and dashboards to track operational health and proactively address deviations.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination

    – Collaborate with engineering, product, and support teams to ensure end-to-end delivery alignment.
  • Team Leadership

    – Build and lead high-performing delivery teams with a focus on accountability, agility, and ownership.
