Purpose/Objective


    Head - Business Development (Hydro PSP) is responsible for leading the strategic direction for Hydro PSP projects. They oversee comprehensive market analysis, guide strategy implementation, manage complex contract negotiations, and drive technological innovation. Additionally, they ensure financial viability and maintain strict adherence to environmental regulations, all to achieve business growth and project success.

Key Responsibilities of Role


    Strategic Market Analysis: Spearheading comprehensive market analysis to identify potential Hydro PSP opportunities involving assessing global and domestic market trends, regulatory landscapes, and competitor strategies to identify gaps and opportunities for the company. Leverage advanced data analytics tools to forecast future market conditions and provide strategic recommendations that align with the company’s long-term growth objectives in the renewable energy sector. Driving Business growth to secure green field PSPs and Hydropower Projects, Mergers & Acquisition of Hydropower projects both national and International, Policy Advocacy and represent the organization in various forums in terms of networking within the industry and understanding competitor strategies etc. Participating in National and International seminars, Meetings on Policy advocacy and build long lasting business relationships and convert the networking agendas into technological advancements at our projects. Formulate Business Development Strategies: Formulating and executing robust business development strategies that drive the growth of the Hydro PSP vertical & lead cross-functional teams in the identification, negotiation, and acquisition of strategic partnerships and projects. Ensure alignment with corporate goals, using financial modeling and risk assessment techniques to evaluate the viability of potential projects & oversee the implementation of these strategies to ensure successful project delivery. Securing High-Value Contracts and Agreements: Secure high-value contracts and agreements that support the expansion of the Hydro PSP portfolio that includes negotiating complex agreements with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and private entities. Continuously research & keep up to date on contract law, energy policies, and commercial negotiations to ensure favorable terms for the company and thus ensure that the agreements comply with all relevant regulations and contribute to the company's financial objectives. Innovation and Technological Advancement: Identify and implement cutting-edge technologies that enhance the efficiency and scalability of Hydro PSP solutions which includes collaborating with R&D teams to assess the feasibility of emerging technologies and integrating them into the business model. Research & stay abreast of technological advancements in the renewable energy sector and apply this knowledge to maintain the company's competitive edge. Budget Management: Oversee financial planning and investment management for the Hydro PSP vertical & develop detailed financial models that project the return on investment for new and existing projects. Collaborate with the finance department to secure funding, optimize capital structure, and manage financial risks associated with large-scale energy projects to ensure that financial plans align with the company’s strategic goals and sustainability objectives. Ensuring Regulatory and Environmental Compliance: Ensure all business development activities comply with environmental and regulatory standards by overseeing environmental impact assessments, securing necessary permits, and maintaining compliance with national and international regulations. Research and stay abreast on environmental laws and policies related to renewable energy projects to implement strategies that minimize environmental impact while maximizing project efficiency. Brand Positioning: Uphold Adani's brand values in all interactions and build strong relationships to fortify brand trust and loyalty. Team Leadership and Development: Encourage team collaboration and accountability, fostering a culture of continuous improvement to meet organizational goals effectively. Mentor and coach team members, identifying high-potential individuals and developing them into future leaders through focused development plans. Qualifications and Experience


    Educational Qualifications: Master's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Hydropower or related field. Certifications offered by the National Institute of Renewable Energy (NIRE) or the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) in relevant fields like hydropower or renewable energy.Bachelor’s degree in engineering with specialization in Finance at post-graduation or International project management level. Work Experience: 22+ years of experience in the hydropower sector, with a focus on pumped storage plants (PSP) with a Proven track record in leading engineering teams, overseeing project execution, and ensuring operational efficiency. In-depth knowledge of hydro power plant design, equipment selection, installation, and maintenance. Extensive experience in troubleshooting, maintenance strategies, and performance optimization. Past experience in the Hydropower Sector should be minimum of 22 years plus and should have worked for an organization of international repute.
