Job Objective
Provides remote assistance with electrical system installation, troubleshooting and repairs as needed. Communicate with concerned parties including Makers, TSI and Vessel to timely resolve the electrical and electronic faults from assigned vessels. Review and analyze jobs related to electrical and electronic equipment in PMS and make necessary amendments as required. Ensure OHSE, Energy and Environmental compliance policies are upheld, Travel to vessel during drydocking, major electrical installation and emergency repairs
Key Accountabilities
- Reviews and is up to date with the developments in the maritime industry, to identify and propose relevant improvements and advanced technical solutions to TSI, Fleet Manager/Director. Assists in the monitoring of the safe and efficient operation of the Technical & marine operations. Proactively uses the company-developed software systems and IT platforms
- Provides remote assistance with electrical system installation, troubleshooting and repairs as needed.
- Oversee electrical repairs and regular maintenance on managed fleet and attend work when necessary
- Participates in the development of the maintenance and repairs plan of electrical equipment and monitors its accurate execution to identify compliance of operations according to schedule, quality of deliverables and budget.
- Communicate with concerned parties including Makers, TSI and Vessel to timely resolve the electrical and electronic faults from assigned vessels
- Provide support to Owners/Managers and project team for Dry docking/new buildings/Emergency repairs, development and project works
- Monitors the accurate, timely and qualitative execution of all maintenance and repair activities related to electrical equipment, in cooperation with the Onboard Management Team.
- Reviews, potential improvements and proposals of solutions on technical issues identified by both on-board and shore-based teams, to resolve the same swiftly and efficiently.
- Reviews the performance appraisals developed for Electrical Technical Officers onboard, provides feedback and proposes amendments to safeguard the fair evaluation and support their proper career development.
Requirements
Education & Qualifications :
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering
- Electrical Technical Officer qualification
Work Experience
- 5 years of sailing experience as an Electrical Technical Officer
- 1 year of shore experience as an Electrical superintendent with a ship management/owning company
Job-Specific Skills
- Strong knowledge of vessels’ technical requirements related to electrical equipment onboard
- Experience working on High Voltage switchboards
- Excellent project management skills Very good negotiation skills
- Very good people management skills Teamwork and cooperation
- Very good organizational skills Fluency in English
- PC literacy
