Job Description – Gold Appraiser Position Title: Gold Appraiser Department: Showroom Operations Location: Porur/Purasaiwakkam/ T Nagar/Chrompet Reporting To: Appraiser Head/Business Manager Role Summary                      The Gold Appraiser is responsible for evaluating and certifying the purity, weight, and value of gold brought by customers for exchange, buyback, or pledge. This role ensures accuracy, transparency, and customer trust in all gold appraisal activities. Key Responsibilities Examine and evaluate gold items using standard testing methods (karat meter, touchstone, acid test, etc.). Accurately assess purity, weight, and value of gold and provide transparent reports to customers. Detect counterfeit or adulterated items and report as per company policy. Maintain appraisal records and issue valuation slips as per company guidelines. Assist in gold exchange, buyback, and pledge transactions in coordination with sales and accounts teams. Ensure compliance with BIS standards and company appraisal policies. Maintain appraisal tools and ensure timely calibration and servicing. Educate customers and sales staff on basic gold valuation practices. Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of gold purity testing methods. Accuracy and attention to detail in valuation. Ethical, trustworthy, and customer-focused approach. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with appraisal equipment and showroom operations.   Qualifications Minimum 2–5 years of experience in gold appraisal (retail jewellery industry preferred). Basic educational qualification (Graduate/12th Pass with relevant experience). Certification in gold appraisal (preferred but not mandatory). Work Environment Jewellery Showroom-based role. High customer interaction and responsibility in financial transactions. Requires adherence to strict security and compliance protocols.   Why Join Us?
