Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Tutor to provide academic support and mentorship to students in various subjects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting and finance, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about education and helping others achieve their academic goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or group tutoring sessions in accounting, finance, and related subjects.
• Assist students in understanding financial concepts, including GAAP, double entry bookkeeping, and financial statement preparation.
• Mentor students on topics such as corporate accounting, governmental accounting, and non-profit accounting.
• Help students with practical applications of accounting software like QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, Xero, and PeopleSoft.
• Guide students through financial report writing and interpretation, including balance sheet reconciliation and cash flow analysis.
• Support learners in mastering skills related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, budgeting, and auditing.
• Encourage critical thinking by discussing securities law, wills & trusts, estate law, and private equity.
• Foster a positive learning environment that promotes student engagement and confidence.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of financial concepts and principles including accrual accounting and financial management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial modeling.
• Familiarity with technical accounting practices and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Experience with journal entries, account reconciliation, general ledger accounting, and financial analysis.
• Ability to communicate complex information effectively to diverse audiences.
• Previous mentoring or teaching experience is preferred but not required.
