The Role

Generalist – Strategy & Operations at Chore
The bar is high and the work is demanding—but if you care, think clearly, and execute, you’ll get unusual responsibility and growth early in your career.
What You’ll Do
Work directly with multiple US startup founders and their teams
to keep their HR, finance, people ops, and admin operations running smoothly—so they can focus on building their business.Help founders solve messy, non-obvious operational problems
(new leave/tax rules, tool migrations, compliance edge cases, etc.) by researching, using AI, and proposing clear, well-reasoned solutions they can act on.Own 1–2 internal strategic projects at any time
—for example, designing a new cross-client process, improving an internal product, or piloting a tool that makes our operators and clients faster.Work closely with Chore’s leadership and Client Operations team
to scope these projects, drive them to completion, and turn the results into something the whole company can use.Translate what you learn into scalable systems
—SOPs, checklists, templates, and simple dashboards that make it easy for others to deliver consistently great work.
Who You Are
You think like an owner.
You take responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks; if something looks off, you dig in instead of waiting to be told what to do.You enjoy figuring things out from first principles.
When faced with a new policy, benefit, or edge case, you can research it, make sensible assumptions, and explain your logic clearly—even if you’ve never seen it before.You write in a clear, structured way.
Your communication is concise, easy to skim, and well organized; you’re comfortable collaborating with US-based teammates and founders.You’re comfortable with tools and AI.
You pick up new software quickly and use AI as a thinking partner, not a copy-paste machine.You’re early in your career but serious about learning fast.
You have 1–4 (up to 6)
years of experience in a generalist, operations, consulting, or Founder’s Office-type roles and want your next job to challenge you more than a typical back-office or support role.

Starting base of ~$12,000 USD per year (varies by location), plus quarterly performance bonuses up to 30%.Equity:
