General Manager Finance

Role Overview:

You will partner closely with senior leadership to provide insights, influence decision-making, and ensure financial discipline across all units.

Key Responsibilities

A. Financial Strategy & Leadership

• Develop and execute the financial strategy aligned to the companys growth objectives.
• Act as financial advisor to the CFO and Management on capital planning, investment decisions, and risk areas.
• Build a high-performance finance team with strong governance and accountability.

B. Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting

• Lead the annual budgeting cycle, capex planning, rolling forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Monitor plant-wise and business-unit-wise financial performance and highlight deviations with corrective action plans.
• Drive financial modelling, scenario planning, and costbenefit analyses.

C. Accounting, Controls & Governance

• Oversee end-to-end accounting, reconciliation, month-end and year-end closing.
• Implement strong internal controls across inventory, receivables, payables, and fixed assets.
• Ensure accuracy, transparency, and timeliness of MIS reports.

D. Manufacturing Costing & Plant Finance Management

• Lead cost accounting, product costing, BOM analysis, yield analysis, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Evaluate plant operations financiallymaterial cost, energy consumption, scrap, overheads, manhours, etc.
• Work with plant leadership to drive efficiencies and reduce operational cost leaks.

E. Compliance, Audit & Risk Management

• Ensure statutory compliance under the Companies Act, GST, Income Tax, and other manufacturing-related regulations.
• Manage internal and external audits with zero non-compliance.
• Build and monitor risk registers, financial SOPs, and control frameworks.

F. Treasury & Cash Flow Management

• Oversee working capital, cash flow planning, credit controls, banking relationships, and fund management.
• Optimize interest costs and negotiate favourable terms with banks and partners.
• Evaluate financing options and manage long-term capital requirements.

G. Stakeholder Management & Business Partnership

• Work closely with operations, supply chain, sales, and procurement teams to drive business performance.
• Present financial insights to leadership, board members, and investors wherever required.
• Build credibility and influence across all levels of the organisation.

Skills & Competencies Required

Must-Have

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)

  Mandatory

• Manufacturing industry experience

  Mandatory
• Minimum

  15+ years

  of experience with at least

  5+ years in leadership roles

  .
• Strong expertise in

  costing, plant finance,

  and

  manufacturing financial controls

  .
• Deep understanding of

  GST, Income Tax,

  and

  statutory compliance

  .
• Proven track record of managing

  large-scale budgets and financial operations

  .

Technical Skills

• Expertise in

  ERP systems

  (SAP / Oracle / Odoo preferred).
• Strong financial modelling and advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of corporate finance, treasury management, and banking processes.
• Experience with internal controls, audits, and financial governance.
