Job Description

JD GM – Plant Accounts & Commercial

A General Manager (GM) - Plant Accounts & Commercial is responsible for

overseeing the financial and commercial operations of a manufacturing

plant. This role involves managing all aspects of plant accounting, including

statutory and legal compliance, product costing, budgeting, and cost

control. The GM also leads commercial decision-making, ensuring

alignment with company objectives, and supervises plant accounts,

particularly in upcoming or southern regions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Management:

Overseeing plant accounting, including statutory and legal compliance, product

costing, budgeting, and cost control.

• Commercial Operations:

Leading commercial decision-making processes, ensuring alignment with company

objectives, and assisting Plant Heads in areas like budgeting, costing, and

inventory control.

• Compliance:

Ensuring adherence to accounting systems (like SAP) and regulatory

requirements.

• Reporting:

Generating Management Information System (MIS) reports on critical plant factors

like production, inventory and GST reconciliations.

• Team Leadership:

Supervising and developing the commercial and accounting teams to achieve

performance goals.

• Stakeholder Collaboration:

Working with various stakeholders to gather information, compile reports, and

facilitate financial statement closures.

• Auditing:

Managing internal and statutory audits, ensuring timely completion and adherence

to budgets.

• Cost Management:

Implementing cost-saving initiatives and optimizing resource allocation.

Specific Skills and Experience:

• Accounting Expertise:

Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IND AS), taxation, budgeting, and

financial reporting.

• Commercial Acumen:

Understanding of commercial strategies, market dynamics etc.

• Analytical Skills:

Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights for decision-

making.

• Leadership Skills:

Ability to lead and motivate teams, manage performance, and drive results.

• Communication Skills:

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various

stakeholders.

• Experience:

Extensive experience in plant accounting, commercial operations, and financial

management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Role & responsibilities
