Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Government IT Sales & GeM Specialist with strong expertise in GeM portal operations and government e-procurement. The candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience managing GeM and overall 5 years of experience in Sales or IT Sales. The role focuses on driving revenue through government digital platforms and managing end-to-end sales for IT software solutions.


Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience handling GeM portal end-to-end (mandatory).
  • Total 5 years of experience in Sales / IT Sales / Government Sales (mandatory).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end GeM portal activities, including product/service listing, catalog management, pricing, bidding, and order processing.
  • Identify and participate in government tenders and online procurement opportunities for IT software solutions.
  • Handle pre-bid queries, BOQ preparation, technical and commercial documentation, and bid submissions.
  • Coordinate with internal technical, finance, and legal teams to finalize proposals and ensure compliance.
  • Drive sales of IT software products and services such as SaaS, ERP, HRMS, CRM, cloud solutions, and custom software development.
  • Track bid performance, tender outcomes, and prepare MIS and sales reports.
  • Manage post-order activities including order acceptance, invoicing coordination, delivery milestones, and payment follow-ups.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government departments, PSUs, and system integrators.

 

Skills:

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of GeM portal workflows and government procurement norms.
  • Solid understanding of IT software sales lifecycle.
  • Experience in e-tendering, RFP/RFQ handling, and government bidding processes.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, CRM tools, and online procurement systems.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • GeM / e-Tendering certification is an added advantage.
