GCP Engineer

We are hiring a hands-on GCP Data Engineer to design, build, and operate high-performance data pipelines and APIs on Google Cloud. This role is ideal for engineers who combine deep GCP service knowledge with strong Python development and DevOps discipline to deliver reliable, cost-efficient data infrastructure.
Role & Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Dataform, and Pub/Sub.
• Develop and maintain Python-based services and serverless APIs that expose datasets and business logic for downstream consumers.
• Optimize query performance, partitioning, and storage in BigQuery to meet SLAs and control cost.
• Implement CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and Git workflows to automate deployments and reduce manual intervention.
• Ensure production reliability via monitoring, alerting, observability, and incident response practices on GCP.
• Collaborate with product, analytics, and ML teams to translate requirements into robust, production-grade data solutions.
  

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform services: BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer (Airflow), Dataform, and Pub/Sub.
• Strong Python skills for data engineering, automation, and building backend services.
• Hands-on experience designing and operating scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and APIs.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices: Git, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker) and deployment automation.
• Experience with performance tuning, cost-optimization, and observability on GCP (Stackdriver/Cloud Monitoring).
  

Preferred

• Experience with Elasticsearch and real-time streaming patterns.
• Exposure to Kubernetes/AKS/GKE for container orchestration and low-latency services.
• Background in data modeling, partitioning strategies, and query optimization for large datasets.
