Full Stack Developer with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

We’re looking for a seasoned Senior Full Stack Developer to own the end-to-end design, build, and continuous improvement of customer-facing web and mobile products. You’ll combine strong front-end flair with solid back-end engineering to deliver fast, secure, and accessible digital experiences that directly drive revenue growth.

Job Highlights

Hourly Rate: The equivalent of $8.0 USD per hour in the applicant’s local currency

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 08:00-17:00 (NZT)

Work Arrangement: Work from home

Contract: Independent Contractor

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, optimisation, and support of modern Web and Mobile Applications.
• Design, implement, and maintain server-side APIs and data models.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues quickly, maintaining high availability.
• Uphold and promote best practices in code quality, documentation, testing, and accessibility.
• Balance commercial objectives with technical feasibility, aligning work to agreed KPIs.
• Mentor and upskill developers, designers, testers, and product managers to ensure cohesive delivery.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years professional experience across both front-end and back-end stacks.
• Expert knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React, React Native, TypeScript, Sass (BEM).

• 75% react native, 25% react or nextjs)

• Experience with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as required skill sets

• Experienced with Git, agile sprints, cross-browser testing, and ticketing tools (e.g. Jira).
• Comfortable building with a headless CMS (e.g. Contentful) and frameworks such as Next.js on Vercel.
• Solid grasp of unit testing (Jest, React Testing Library), Node.js, and SEO fundamentals.
• Familiar with Figma for hand-off, Storybook, and W3C accessibility standards.
• Exposure to serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, Amplify, GCP Functions, Firebase, or Azure Functions).
