Job Description

Front Office Responsibilities :

  • Greet and assist patients, attendants, and visitors in a polite and professional manner.
  • Manage patient registration, admission, and discharge formalities.
  • Handle the reception desk, telephone calls, and inquiries.
  • Guide patients to departments, doctors, and service areas.
  • Maintain visitor and patient movement records.
  • Ensure smooth flow of patients and coordinate with nursing, TPA, and other departments.
  • Manage appointment scheduling of consultants.

Billing Responsibilities

  • Generate patient bills (IPD/OPD) accurately and on time.
  • Update patient services, investigations, procedures, and doctor charges in the system.
  • Coordinate with TPA/Insurance desk for cashless billing.
  • Verify documents, approvals, and tariffs before final billing.
  • Ensure accurate closing of bills at the time of patient discharge.
  • Maintain billing records and support documents as per hospital policy.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and discipline at the front desk.
  • Manage data entry in HIS/ERP system.
  • Handle patient feedback and escalate complaints when needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Support internal audits, billing reviews, and compliance checks.

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of hospital billing (OPD/IPD).
  • Experience with HIS/ERP software.
  • Understanding of TPA/Insurance processes.
  • Basic accounting and cash-handling skills.
  • Good typing speed and computer proficiency (MS Office).

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Polite, patient-friendly, and professional behavior.
  • Ability to handle queries, complaints, and difficult situations calmly.

Organizational Skills

  • Time management and multi-tasking ability.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in billing.
  • Ability to work in shift duties.

Other Competencies

  • Problem-solving ability.
  • Strong work ethics and confidentiality.
  • Team coordination.

Qualification & Experience

  • Minimum: Graduate (any stream).
  • Experience: 0–3 years (Hospital experience preferred).
  • Freshers with good communication can also apply.
