Freight Operations Manager

As the Freight Head at a leading logistics company, your primary responsibility will be to oversee truck supply operations and ensure optimal supply readiness across geographies and categories (FTL). Your role will involve developing and expanding trucker and fleet owner networks, leading a team of field executives, and implementing technology solutions to streamline supply processes. Additionally, you will be required to maintain high standards of fulfillment, analyze supply vs. demand gaps, and ensure compliance with company SOPs. Key Responsibilities: - Ensure 100% daily truck placement as per business demand in FTL transportation. - Build and expand trucker and fleet owner networks through market leads and personal relationships. - Oversee truck attachment through direct contacts and mobile app engagement for optimal supply readiness. - Maintain pen-and-paper records of returns and ensure high standards of fulfillment and truck availability. - Lead and motivate a team of over 50 ground-level field executives responsible for truck onboarding and daily fulfillment. - Guide the team in using mobile and tech platforms to streamline truck supply and performance monitoring. - Analyze gaps in truck supply vs. demand and develop corrective measures to maintain high service levels. - Ensure adherence to company SOPs, track daily metrics for truck placements, returns, and vendor performance. Required Qualifications & Skills: - Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in FTL transportation and vendor development. - Proven track record of leading large field teams in a high-paced logistics environment. - Strong understanding of trucker behavior, load demand patterns, and regional market dynamics. - Practical knowledge of fleet attachment processes, operational documentation, and compliance. - Tech-savvy with working experience in logistics mobile apps or digital platforms. - Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. - Ability to operate independently and take full ownership of the supply function.,
