Senior Trade Finance professional

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with advisory consultants and client stakeholders to understand the NBFC’s current trade finance strategy, operating model, and product landscape.

• Evaluate existing trade finance products such as:

Back-to-back and front-to-back trade lines

Supply Chain Finance

Letter of Credit (LC) discounting

Pre-export finance and advance financing

• Assess product suitability for:

Domestic trade

Export/import transactions to and from India

Regulatory, operational, and risk feasibility

• Recommend product applicability across identified sectors and customer segments.

• Design new or enhanced trade finance products, including:

Product features and structures

Eligibility criteria

Documentation and collateral requirements

Pricing frameworks

Risk mitigants and operational workflows

• Ensure all product designs are compliant with RBI/FEMA regulations, AML/KYC norms, and ICC rules, as applicable.

• Incorporate financial messaging and instrument frameworks (SWIFT, SFMS, MTL, etc.) into product and process design.

• Develop product notes, policies, SOPs, and implementation roadmaps.

• Support client discussions, workshops, and presentations as part of the consulting engagement.

Skills Required

Graduate degree required; MBA, CA, or equivalent qualification preferred.

10–15 years of hands-on experience in Trade Finance within Banks and/or NBFCs.

Strong exposure to both domestic and international trade finance products.

Prior experience in trade finance product design, structuring, or advisory roles is highly desirable.

In-depth working knowledge of financial instruments and messaging systems used in trade finance transactions (SWIFT, SFMS, MTL, etc.).

Sound understanding of the Indian regulatory environment and cross-border trade practices, with exposure to global markets.

Deep technical expertise in trade finance instruments, documentation, and risk management.

Strong analytical and product design capabilities, with the ability to translate business requirements into structured solutions.
