Role Description We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Application Developer to join our remote development team supporting applications for the Commonwealth of Virginia's ELECT department . You will collaborate with established staff and contractors on both internal and public-facing web and Windows applications. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure services. You will work independently on complex tasks and contribute to all phases of application development — from analysis and design to implementation, maintenance, and enhancement. Key Responsibilities Design and implement secure, scalable cloud solutions using Azure services Work on new application development as well as maintaining and enhancing existing systems Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, and Developers to meet customer and system requirements Integrate applications with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and third-party Cloud/SaaS providers Ensure security, compliance, and performance across applications Provide technical guidance in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure provisioning Required Skills and Experience Microsoft Azure services: Azure Functions, App Services, AKS, DevOps, Logic Apps Programming: C# and .NET (Framework and Core), plus experience in Python, Java, or Node.js Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, ARM Templates, or Bicep API Development: RESTful API design, Azure API Management Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Azure Storage Azure Identity Management: AAD, RBAC, OAuth Monitoring and Logging: Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps) Agile and DevOps practices; strong communication within remote teams Debugging, performance tuning, and application optimization Show more Show less
