Fractional Head – Digital Payments & Fintech Operations

We are looking for a Fractional Fintech Leader with deep expertise in digital payments, payment gateways, and aggregator ecosystems someone who has been there, done that, at scale.

You have likely helped build or manage systems like Google Pay, PhonePe, Razorpay, or Paytm, and can now bring that strategic and operational excellence to help us design, build, and scale our own digital payment platform.

This is a strategic fractional engagement (part-time / retainer / project-based) designed for a senior industry expert who thrives on driving outcomes, shaping compliance frameworks, and accelerating business execution without the constraints of a full-time role.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Architecture & Setup
• Guide the design and architecture of the payment aggregator and gateway ecosystem.
• Define the roadmap for product, partnerships, and compliance readiness.
• Compliance & Licensing Oversight
• Ensure adherence to RBI, PCI-DSS, and KYC/AML standards.
• Advise on licensing pathways, audits, and regulatory documentation.
• Banking & BIN Relationship Management
• Establish and manage partnerships with banks and card networks.
• Operate with or without BIN sponsorship (directly or via third-party partners).
• Escrow & Settlement Strategy
• Define and supervise escrow account management for merchant settlements.
• Create reconciliation frameworks and controls for financial accuracy.
• Payment Product Development
• Collaborate with tech and product teams to develop and launch a secure, scalable payment application.
• Provide leadership on UX, security, and transaction architecture.
• Execution & Advisory
• Offer executive-level guidance on business growth, monetization models, and partnership expansion.
• Train and mentor internal teams for long-term operational self-sufficiency.

Engagement Model

• Type: Fractional / Consulting / Retainer-based engagement

Ideal Background

• 10–15+ years of leadership in digital payments, fintech, or banking.
• Hands-on experience in payment gateway/aggregator setup and escrow management.
• Experience with BIN sponsorship models and regulatory compliance frameworks.
• Proven track record of building or scaling payment products or businesses.
