Food Technology Expert

Qualification and Experience

• M. Tech or Masters in Food Science or Food Technology with over 10 years of experience.
• Expertise in food science, product development, DPR preparation, quality assurance, food safety regulations, private sector engagement, and process engineering.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in diverse environments.
• Relevant experience in the food sector, including knowledge of food value chains, Post-Harvest Management practices, value addition, agricultural practices, community engagement, and project implementation.

Scope of Work

• Design and develop new food products, recipes, and food processing techniques that meet community needs, often focusing on local ingredients, affordability, and nutritional value.
• Implement and monitor food safety and quality management systems to ensure products are safe, compliant with regulations, and meet high-quality standards.
• Develop and refine food processing and manufacturing methods to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve the sustainability of food production.
• Design and evaluate food packaging solutions to extend shelf life, protect product quality, and minimize waste and environmental impact.
• Stay updated on food industry trends, emerging technologies, and sustainable practices, and apply this knowledge to develop innovative and accessible food solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and training to farmers, food processors, and community groups on best practices in food handling, processing, and quality assurance.
• Conduct field trials and collect data on food product performance, market acceptance, and impact on livelihoods to assess effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
• Work with economists, marketers, agricultural experts, and local community stakeholders to ensure products meet market demands, are affordable, and contribute to community economic development.
