Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in embedded systems development, specifically for smart meter applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in C, C++, and Embedded C, with a good understanding of the DLMS protocol. The role requires the ability to analyze, understand, and enhance existing firmware codebases, and make updates or improvements where necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

● Design, develop, test, and maintain firmware for smart metering devices.

● Understand existing codebases, analyze functionality, and implement enhancements or bug fixes.

● Work with DLMS (Device Language Message Specification) protocol for data communication in smart meters.

● Ensure firmware reliability, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.

● Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate and test firmware with smart meter hardware.

● Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and optimization of embedded systems.

● Create and maintain technical documentation for firmware design and updates.

● Support production and field issues related to firmware functionality.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, or related field.

● 3–5 years of experience in firmware/embedded systems development.

● Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Embedded C.

● Good understanding of DLMS protocol and its application in smart metering.

● Hands-on experience with microcontrollers, RTOS, and embedded development environments.

● Experience with debugging tools, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.

● Knowledge of communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, RS485, etc.).

● Strong problem-solving skills with ability to analyze and optimize existing code.

● Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
