Job Purpose

To prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for fire protection systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, applicable standards, and company guidelines, while supporting the tendering process from initial inquiry to final submission.


Key Responsibilities

  • Tender Review & Analysis

  • Study tender documents, BOQs, drawings, and technical specifications for fire protection projects.
  • Identify scope, exclusions, clarifications, and risks.

  • Estimation & Costing

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for fire hydrant, sprinkler, foam, and special suppression systems.
  • Obtain and analyze quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Calculate material, labour, equipment, and overhead costs.


  • Technical Compliance

  • Ensure designs and costings meet relevant codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, TAC, IS).
  • Coordinate with design engineers for technical clarifications.


  • Documentation & Submission

  • Prepare complete tender packages including technical and commercial offers.
  • Develop BOQs, cost sheets, and supporting documents for client submission.


  • Coordination & Communication

  • Liaise with procurement, engineering, and operations teams for input data.
  • Interact with clients and consultants for clarifications during the bidding stage.


  • Post-Bid Support

  • Participate in negotiation meetings.
  • Prepare revised estimates or value engineering proposals when required.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Education:

    Diploma / B.Tech / BE in Mechanical Engineering or Fire & Safety Engineering.
  • Experience:

    3–7 years in estimation and costing for fire protection projects.


  • Technical Knowledge:

  • Fire hydrant systems, sprinkler systems, foam systems, gas suppression, and related equipment.
  • NFPA, IS, TAC, and other relevant standards.


  • Skills:

  • Strong in MS Excel, estimation software, and tender documentation.
  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.

  • Accuracy in costing and BOQ preparation.
  • Time management for tight tender deadlines.
  • Negotiation skills for supplier and subcontractor pricing.
  • Problem-solving for design and costing challenges.
