Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Fire Technician to ensure the reliability, safety, and compliance of fire protection and firefighting systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems, fire suppression systems, and firefighting equipment in accordance with national and local safety codes. 1. A fire fighting electric technician installs, maintains, and tests fire protection systems and equipment. 2. They also ensure that buildings meet fire safety codes. Responsibilities 1. Install fire alarms, exit signs, and fire suppression systems Test and maintain fire protection systems and equipment 2. Assess buildings to ensure they meet fire safety codes 3. Check for proper safety equipment, combustible materials, and fire extinguisher compliance 4. Plan fire protection systems 5. Recognize, installation and repairing (AMC) of Fire alarm system Smoke Detector system All electric work of fire fighting systems fire hazards Fire protection systems Sprinkler systems Hose reel systems Fire hydrants Water mist and fogging systems Gas systems Foam systems Dry powder Key Responsibilities: Fire Protection Systems Maintenance Conduct routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of: Fire alarm systems Fire sprinkler systems Fire extinguishers Fire hydrants and related infrastructure Ensure all systems comply with NFPA codes, local fire codes, and applicable safety regulations. Installation & Repair Install, replace, or upgrade fire protection system components such as panels, detectors, nozzles, valves, and pumps. Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning fire detection and suppression systems to restore full functionality. Hydrant Inspection & Maintenance Perform regular hydrant inspections, flow testing, and pressure readings as per NFPA 25 and local standards. Lubricate, flush, clean, and maintain fire hydrants to ensure operational readiness. Repair or replace defective hydrant components (gaskets, stems, valves, nozzles, etc.). Be familiar with basic hydrant pump systems. Emergency Response & Service Calls Respond promptly to service calls, alarms, and fire protection system malfunctions. Perform on-site diagnostics and emergency repairs to mitigate safety hazards. Documentation & Compliance Maintain detailed records of inspections, testing results, repairs, and inventory using electronic or paper-based systems. Collaborate with fire departments, safety inspectors, and regulatory agencies during audits and compliance reviews. Training & Safety Provide guidance to facility personnel on fire safety procedures, evacuation plans, and emergency protocols. Participate in ongoing training, certification programs, and professional development workshops. Follow all company and industry safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment. Worksite Management Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace including tools, equipment, and service vehicles. Communicate effectively with engineering, facility management, and maintenance teams. Required Skills & Qualifications: Hands-on experience with fire detection and suppression systems (alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers, hydrants). Understanding of NFPA standards and fire safety regulations. Basic knowledge of hydrant pump systems and firefighting equipment performance monitoring. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Ability to interpret blueprints, system diagrams, and technical manuals. Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or within a team. Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Fire Alarm Systems or Fire Protection Technology. Previous experience with hydrant flow testing and NFPA 25 procedures. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites.
