Finishing Supervisor

Job Purpose:The Finishing Supervisor oversees all activities in the carpet finishing department, ensuring that carpets are processed according to quality standards, production schedules, and safety requirements. This includes managing the teams responsible for shearing, backing, latexing, drying, trimming, inspection, and packaging operations. Key Responsibilities:Production Management Plan, coordinate, and monitor finishing operations to meet daily and weekly production targets. Ensure efficient use of machinery (shearing, coating, embossing, latexing, etc.) and manpower. Maintain workflow balance between tufting, dyeing, and finishing departments. Quality Control Ensure finished carpets meet quality standards regarding texture, color, backing, and dimensions. Work closely with Quality Assurance to identify and correct defects or process deviations. Maintain records of quality checks and rework. Team Leadership Supervise finishing operators, helpers, and shift staff. Conduct training on process parameters, safety, and machine operation. Monitor performance and enforce discipline and attendance standards. Machine & Process Maintenance Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and corrective maintenance of finishing equipment. Ensure proper setup and calibration of finishing lines (latex coating, embossing, drying, cutting, etc.). Safety & Compliance Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with environmental and industrial standards. Conduct periodic safety audits and ensure use of PPE. Documentation & Reporting Maintain production logs, downtime records, and material consumption reports. Report daily output, wastage, and quality issues to management. Key Skills & Competencies:Strong understanding of carpet finishing processes (shearing, coating, drying, cutting, embossing). Knowledge of production planning, quality control, and process optimization. Leadership and team management skills. Problem-solving and troubleshooting ability. Good communication and reporting skills.
