Finishing Engineer

Job Summary

The Finishing Engineer will be responsible for managing and delivering all finishing and interior-related works of the project — ensuring top-quality workmanship, timely completion, and seamless coordination among various teams. The role includes handling both civil and interior finishes such as exposed concrete, exposed brickwork, joinery, electrical, plumbing, furniture, and landscape elements. The engineer will serve as a key link between the site team, design consultants, and interior agencies to ensure the project’s design intent and quality standards are achieved flawlessly.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

· Oversee and execute all finishing activities including plastering, flooring, tiling, painting, waterproofing, false ceiling, carpentry, furniture installation, and decorative finishes.

· Manage interior-related works, coordinating between architects, interior designers, and specialized agencies to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to design details.

· Supervise and maintain quality for all final and exposed finishes such as exposed concrete, exposed brickwork, natural stone cladding, or other permanent finishes.

· Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) interfaces to ensure proper alignment and concealed routing before final finishes.

· Monitor progress of finishing and interior work to ensure adherence to timelines, sequencing, and resource allocation.

· Prepare and maintain finishing checklists, quality benchmarks, and snag lists for handover readiness.

· Inspect materials delivered for finishing and interior works, ensuring compliance with approved samples and mock-ups.

· Work closely with interior contractors, suppliers, and vendors to maintain material flow and avoid project delays.

· Supervise on-site installation of furniture, fittings, fixtures, and ensure alignment with drawings and specifications.

· Collaborate with the landscape and external works teams to achieve continuity and finish quality in exterior zones.

· Coordinate with procurement, store, and billing teams for material requirements, verification, and reconciliation.

· Identify any design discrepancies or execution conflicts early and propose technically viable solutions.

· Maintain a proactive communication channel with the Project Manager, Design Team, and Clients regarding design intent, quality issues, and finishing progress.

· Ensure safety, cleanliness, and workmanship discipline during all finishing operations.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies

· B.E. / B.Tech (Civil) with 5–7 years of site experience in finishing and interior coordination works.

· Deep knowledge of civil finishing materials, joinery, and interior detailing.

· Strong understanding of MEP coordination, fit-out sequencing, and quality inspection procedures.

· Proficiency in reading architectural and interior drawings; capable of identifying design clashes and resolving them.

· Skilled in AutoCAD, Excel, and project coordination tools.

· Eye for detail, precision in execution, and appreciation for architectural aesthetics.

· Excellent interpersonal and coordination skills to manage multiple stakeholders — designers, contractors, and suppliers.

· Highly organized, quality-focused, and committed to timely project delivery.
